The construction industry plays a big part in my life right now and for the future as well. Since it is a never ending career of changes and futuristic idea's that come in to play and some are made into a reality, I thought I could do this industry good, even if I am one person.

I started my construction career when I was in tenth grade and started going to Berks Career and Technical Center in Oley, Pa. The program I am in heavy equipment technology. As students we fix heavy equipment. This was a new beginning for me as I have never been up close to a piece of equipment except for my dad's tractor-trailer. Within the first few weeks I was hooked. I loved everything about fixing these big pieces of equipment. I knew then that I wanted to do this for life. So I looked into some trade school and college's for after high school but none of them really showed me what I wanted to chase after.

Then in 2007 I joined the Marine Corps and I got the job as a heavy equipment operator. I was excited when I heard that I got it because I always played with little pieces of equipment in my sandbox and even now I still play with them in my brother's sandbox.

This industry is an excellent one to get into as long as you like it because it is moving at a fast pace and needs highly qualified people to keep up with its demanding needs and changes. With my job in the future being a heavy equipment operator I believe I am one of those people. Not only in the marines but when I get out I can find a job as an operator because I will have so much training under my belt. I hope there is never a time where this industry slows down because I love the technological advancements and new equipment. It is my life to operate heavy equipment and I am going to pursue it.
